This is from another book I have read last year: ‘’Big Ideas for Curious Minds – An Introduction to Philosophy’’, from the School of Life – www.theschooloflife.com -. The book is designed for children so it just made me love the book even more!
One of the ideas discussed in the book is that people are unhappy, not mean.
The central idea is that no one who is really happy want to make another person unhappy and also that people who are actually strong and confident are almost always gentle and kind to others.
Reflections from the book:
- If someone is mean and a bully it is because at home, or in the past, something or someone has frightened them a lot.
- Realizing why you not be very nice to other people sometimes will help you to see how someone else could be not very nice to you.
- Understanding doesn’t make everything suddenly perfect, but it’s a good start. If we can admit our own sadness it will make us less angry with other people
Reflections from me:
- Don’t take things too personal
- Forgiveness is a gift
- Usually, we can learn something (or a lot) from the most challenging people in our lifes – Sometimes we are the challenge in someone else life.
