The guilt leaves deep inside; she wants the biggest room in this house
I have to talk to her frequently: “would you please give the other thoughts and emotions some space? Today I would like self-compassion to be with me”
The little self-compassion is shy and quiet; I can even forget she exists. I have to hold her little hand and help her walk baby steps towards the big room.
The guilt goes away for a while, and she starts to look through the windows; she can blame others; it’s an easy job to see their flaws.
The little self-compassion starts to gain space and invites her friends, Acceptance, and Wisdom to stay with her. Together, they agree they can’t just tell guilt to go away. Gently, they invite her for a warm tea and nap. She must be tired; it’s been a long day.

I have been reading Sharon Salzberg’s book Real Love. In it, she advises her students to invite their inner critic for a nap and a cup of tea; I love that, and it inspired me to look at the emotions of living here now.
I think the little self-compassion have those eyes <3
